Princeton’s Moore St is beloved for its pedestrian nature with cars tucked away in the mid-block alley. When our clients purchased a small lot that has never been built on, it was not clear where to find this property on Moore St. It has been a driveway surrounded by weeds and an informal cut-through to the alley. Our challenge of creating a home with outdoor space, light and privacy on a lot defined by parking and access easements lead to a u-shaped design. Here, the new house wraps around and shapes the outdoor space on the side to allowing its empty nester owners a place to enjoy gardening and entertaining for themselves and visiting grandkids.
